Good enough is never good enough.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
These days, there are few new building projects that do not contain elements of LEED. In Gephart’s role as a design-build and design-assist contractor, both our company and team members have had active involvement in the LEED program, and we have LEED AP personnel on staff.
In our experience, the incorporation of LEED elements and certification efforts have been led by independent consultants. In support of their efforts, the services we provide during the pre-construction phase of the project include preparation of incremental cost data and cost estimating of established program bundles for the purpose of evaluating implementation costs and payback calculations. After the decision has been made to incorporate the accepted bundle into the project, we incorporate the necessary elements into the project design. During systems commissioning we work with the certifying party to demonstrate proper operation of the bundle components. This participation is a standard element of our pre-construction and construction services. Some of our LEED efforts have included the design and installation of
- Daylight Harvesting
- Stepped Dimming Controls
- Occupancy Sensors
- Energy Efficient Lamps & Ballasts
- Programmable Lighting Controls
